At the heart of the discussions: the birth of a collaboration aimed at supporting the ambitions of the CEMAC cultural strategy, currently being developed. A strategy that places artistic creation and cultural professions at the center of the sub-region’s development policies.
Led by Mrs. Sylvie Nwet, the YAHRA festival aims to highlight local and international talents. It also seeks to create bridges between cultures, generations, and artistic disciplines.
Concerts, exhibitions, screenings: the festival aims to offer a showcase for Cameroonian creators while promoting artistic dialogue with other CEMAC countries and beyond. Beyond the event, YAHRA wants to have a lasting impact on the sector.
Specifically, it plans technical workshops for artists, technicians, and project leaders. The goal: to strengthen their skills and prepare them for the demands of the regional market. YAHRA also relies on international exchanges to open Cameroonian artists to new stages, new audiences, and new funding opportunities.

For CEMAC, the cultural and creative industries represent an important source of jobs for youth and a vector of integration. Supporting them also means preserving cultural diversity and strengthening the attractiveness of territories.
This meeting thus marks a first step towards a concrete partnership between YAHRA and CEMAC, to make creation a true economic engine in Central Africa.
