The RDDRC Congress of February 07, 2026 brought Abdouraman Hamadou Babba to the head of the said party, a new politician who has made a name for himself in the field of football. The sports leader and one of the former detractors of the leaders of the Cameroonian Football Federation was chosen to preside over the political party founded by Foula Dambaldi. And which, like many others, is preparing to participate in the legislative and municipal elections scheduled for the year 2026.

For the next five years, the highest body of the party entrusts him with the responsibility of leading its activities. The most imminent relate to the upcoming electoral deadlines. To this end, the congress entrusts him with the mission of conducting broad consultations as soon as possible with a view to nominating candidates for the legislative and municipal elections throughout the national territory. This, for the newly elected official, is a responsibility that will free him from political wandering in the next presidential election, should he succeed, at the end of the next elections, in winning seats within the municipal councils or in the National Assembly.

His performances in this position will thus strengthen his political leadership, which will further facilitate the constitution, declaration, and validation of his candidacy for the 2032 presidential election. An election that is undoubtedly in his sights. During the 2025 presidential election, not having a political party, he wanted to run as an independent candidate before turning to the Union of Populations of Cameroon given the complexity of the legal conditions. The division of this historic political formation into several factions did not make his task easier, resulting in the rejection of his candidacy due to multiple nominations.

Following the congress last Saturday, Abdouraman Hamadou Babba is therefore called upon to learn the ropes in politics. To give the party some visibility, to mobilize a national electoral base that can carry him to the highest office in the state when the time comes.
