The statistics table released this weekend shows a decrease in the success rate between the 2026 session and the 2025 session. The South-West region is in the lead, the Littoral region records two excellent mentions.
It is harvest time at the end of the 2026 General Secondary Education Baccalaureate exams. Following the announcement of results across all centers in the ten regions, the Cameroon Baccalaureate Office, the body responsible for organizing the Baccalaureate and Probatoire exams, displays the overall national statistics.
According to the data, 131,628 candidates registered for the exam, 130,772 were present during the tests while 731 candidates missed the exams. At the end of the process, 55,108 candidates are declared admitted including 30,750 girls and 24,358 boys, for a success rate of 42.14%. Among the mentions, the statistics show 43,638 passable mentions, 9,372 fairly good mentions, 1,792 candidates have the good mention, 304 obtain the very good mention and two, the excellent mention.
In the regional ranking, the South-West region is in the lead with 54.26%, followed by the Littoral region with 49.41%. The West is in 3rd position with 46.27%, the Centre 4th with 44.66%, the North-West is 5th with 38.58%. The East is in 6th position with 35.09%, Adamaoua 7th with 34.59%, the South 8th with 33.30%. The North region is second to last with 28.73% followed by the Far North region at the bottom of the table with 26.27%.
The success rate for the 2026 session has decreased by 5.31% compared to the 2025 success rate which is 47.45%. It is higher than that of 2024 which showed 37.26%, a difference of 10 points less than the 2025 rate.
