Present at the 5th edition of the Cameroon Bloggers Summit, the National Observatory on Climate Change advocated for better dissemination of climatological data to strengthen health prevention and public information.
Climate change is now established as a major public health issue. This is the message conveyed by the National Observatory on Climate Change (ONACC) during the 5th edition of the Cameroon Bloggers Summit, held on July 7, 2026, at the French Institute of Yaoundé around the theme: “Blogging and Health: situation, promotion and opportunities in Cameroon”.

Representing ONACC, Dr. Kimming Ignatius Ngala emphasized the interactions between climatic phenomena and the resurgence of diseases such as malaria or cholera. He highlighted the need to integrate climatological data into public health policies to improve prevention and management of health risks.
Facing content creators, the official also recalled their strategic role in raising citizen awareness. He invited them to popularize the results of studies produced by ONACC and to relay climate alerts to promote better community anticipation and limit the spread of false information.

At the end of the discussions, bloggers, experts in human, animal, and environmental health recommended making content creators key partners in education, prevention, and the promotion of reliable health information. This commitment was deemed essential to strengthen the link between public policies and populations, while combating misinformation on digital platforms.
