Meeting on May 21, 2026, in the Actes room of the rectorate, the third session of the Scientific Commission of the University of Bertoua decided on the allocation of a 100 million CFA franc fund dedicated to financing research and scientific publication.

The announcement was made on May 21, 2026, at the end of the work chaired by Prof. Janvier ONANA, vice-rector in charge of teaching, professionalization, and ICT, representing the rector, Prof. Dieudonné Emmanuel PEGNYEMB. The endowment, intended to support the scientific momentum of the institution, is structured into two complementary parts.
Of the 100 million CFA francs allocated, 60 million will be dedicated to fundamental research, while 40 million will be directed towards the publication of work from laboratories and research teams. This distribution reflects the desire to strengthen both knowledge production and its visibility at the national and international levels, in a context of strengthening the research capacities of the institution and improving the quality of scientific output.
Beyond financial aspects, the session also marked an institutional advance with the validation of the Thesis Charter of the University of Bertoua. This reference document aims to harmonize doctoral practices, supervise research paths, and ensure better monitoring of doctoral students.
In a context where Cameroonian universities seek to consolidate their position in the academic space, this session of the Scientific Commission represents a structuring step for the University of Bertoua, between strengthened scientific governance and increased ambition for influence.
