Cameroon takes a new step in the modernization of its technical teacher training. Japan and UNESCO-IICBA have delivered to MINESEC a significant batch of digital equipment intended for eight Technical Teacher Training Colleges across the country.

The Minister of Secondary Education, Prof. Nalova Lyonga, received on May 22, 2026, an important technological donation aimed at strengthening the digital transformation of ENIET. The ceremony, held at the Distance Learning Centre, brought together several diplomatic and institutional personalities, including representatives from Japan, UNESCO, and the Cameroonian government.
The donation includes laptops and desktop computers, interactive whiteboards, LCD projectors, multifunction printers, computer servers, as well as backup solar systems. This equipment will be distributed among eight institutions to improve the learning and training conditions of future technical teachers.
Speaking, the UNESCO representative praised Cameroon’s efforts towards modernizing the education system, notably through pedagogical reforms and digital integration. The representative of the Japanese Embassy, for his part, emphasized that this initiative aims to strengthen teachers’ skills and provide a more effective and secure learning environment.
Prof. Nalova Lyonga described this cooperation as a major lever for equitable access to educational technologies. She also encouraged young people to embrace digital tools and artificial intelligence, which she sees as opportunities for creation and empowerment, in the spirit of the concept “Science for production”.
