Fight against road insecurity: the East region toughens its tone

By a decree signed on April 6, 2026, Governor Grégoire Mvongo introduces strict measures against vehicles without registration and non-compliant tinted windows.

Faced with the resurgence of security threats and traffic violations, the governor of the East region has issued a decree instituting reinforced controls throughout the regional territory. The text, dated April 6, 2026, primarily targets vehicles circulating without regular registration as well as those with tinted windows that do not comply with current regulations.

According to the provisions of this decree, customs officers, in collaboration with law enforcement forces, are now required to carry out systematic checks. Any vehicle in violation is subject to immediate measures, including the arrest of the driver, the immobilization of the vehicle and its impoundment, as well as sanctions provided for by legislation.

However, the authorities insist on the need to conduct these operations in strict compliance with the rights of users, with professionalism and in accordance with the texts in force. This initiative is part of a dynamic of strengthening public order and protecting people and property.
The execution of this decree is the responsibility of the administrative authorities, regional heads of security forces, and the head of the East customs sector.
