Secondary education: the Distance Education Center launches online assessments

The exams announced by the Minister of Secondary Education, Pauline Nalova Lyonga, while addressing the educational community, begin this March 31.

In a recent communication, the Minister of Secondary Education, Pauline Nalova Lyonga, announced the transition to online and distance assessments. Organized by the Distance Education Center, these assessments take place on March 31 and April 1, 2026. According to the government official, these exams will help identify students’ gaps relative to the learning objectives targeted in the second term. They also aim to organize distance and live remediation sessions during the second term break.

On the Distance Education Center platform, the organizers have already scheduled the tests. The public has access to them. This March 31, the scheduled tests include English, Life and Earth Sciences, Geology, French, ECM, Biology, Physics, Computer Science, Literature in English, among others. The following day, April 1, other tests are on the program. To be able to take the exams, candidates must be registered beforehand and have a code to access the tests. Those who are not enrolled have the opportunity to do so and obtain their access code.

These tests will take place on the eve of the students’ departure for the second term holidays. They represent another step in the digitalization and modernization of secondary education in Cameroon. The movement still faces challenges in some areas related to internet availability or speed.
