The opponent who had called for protests after the presidential election is launching a wave of generosity in favor of people incarcerated in connection with these protests.

The situation of people arrested and placed in detention in prisons and other places of detention seems to concern Issa Tchiroma Bakary. The president of the Front for the National Salvation of Cameroon is mobilizing Cameroonians, particularly his supporters, with the aim of helping these detainees. According to the politician, these detainees “languish without any judgment in jails (…) They are starving, deprived of care, meals, and visits.” Due to this situation, the political exile calls for the generosity of his compatriots. The former minister asks them to provide assistance and donations at a time when they need support and comfort.

Furthermore, the 2025 presidential candidate is turning to the Cameroonian diaspora, where his victory is undisputed, to mobilize its active forces. He is addressing an appeal to engineers at NASA, in Silicon Valley, doctors, medical personnel, researchers, teachers, executives, journalists, employees, workers, entrepreneurs, and brilliant students around the world to align themselves behind the higher interest of the nation.

Continuing his logic of conquering the presidency of the Republic, he wants to involve them in the “battle for the Etoudi Palace” by soliciting their various contributions. It remains to be seen whether contributions for these two aspects will be delivered. While the situation of the detainees may attract more attention from generous souls, the resistance for the Etoudi Palace seems to be a cause already lost.
