In Yaoundé, the closing of the Women’s Leadership Academy of the PROSCIG project on July 17, 2026, honored a new generation of leaders from the ten regions of Cameroon. Beyond the certificates awarded, this initiative aims to sustainably strengthen women’s engagement in associative life and community development.
The Minister of the Promotion of Women and the Family presided over the closing ceremony of the Women’s Leadership Academy of the Strengthening CSOs and Gender Inclusivity project (PROSCIG), implemented by GIZ, on July 17, 2026.

Launched in August 2025, this training brought together 19 participants from the ten regions of Cameroon. For several months, they were equipped on essential topics such as communication, mediation, combating gender-based violence, personal development, organization, community engagement, and economic empowerment.
Beyond acquiring skills, this academy aims to strengthen the operational capacity of civil society organizations by focusing on a more assertive female leadership. The beneficiaries are now called upon to play a leading role in their communities, promoting increased participation of women in development initiatives and decision-making spaces.

Welcoming this momentum, the minister invited the laureates to put their skills at the service of other women to create a ripple effect in the ten regions of the country. A call that reflects the ambition to make this training a concrete lever for promoting women’s rights, equal opportunities, and a more inclusive civil society.
