Community Health: MUSAN and ASCOVIME Strengthen Their Commitment in Ngoantet

The 17th health campaign organized by the Ngoantet Health Mutual (MUSAN) in the Nyong and So’o department, Central Region, in partnership with ASCOVIME mobilized hundreds of people on May 30, 2026.

Specialized consultations, surgical interventions, dental care, and support for pregnant women marked this operation, which has become a major event for the local populations.

The locality of Ngoantet (Nyong and So’o Department, Central Region) experienced, on May 30, a new demonstration of health solidarity on the occasion of the 17th edition of the health campaign led by the Ngoantet Health Mutual (MUSAN) and its historic partner, the Association of Skills for a Better Life (ASCOVIME).



In total, 743 people benefited from medical consultations, including 395 women, 264 men, and 84 children. The operation also enabled 53 dental consultations resulting in 48 treatments, while 407 ophthalmological consultations led to the distribution of 335 pairs of glasses. Two patients with cataracts will be cared for in a specialized center thanks to MUSAN’s financial support.
Surgical activity was one of the highlights of the campaign with 68 interventions performed on site. Twenty-five other cases were scheduled for an additional session planned for June 5 in Ngoantet, while two complex interventions will be carried out in a specialized center in Yaoundé, also covered by the mutual.

Special attention was given to maternal health. Thirty-six pregnant women received free prenatal consultations, ultrasounds, as well as blood and urine tests.
Praising the strong mobilization of the populations, the president of MUSAN, Pinon Omgba Ahanda, paid tribute to the residents who “keep the flame alive” of this community initiative. He also expressed his gratitude to ASCOVIME, a partner committed since 2013 in the fields of health and education.

For his part, Dr. Georges Bwele, president of ASCOVIME, reaffirmed his willingness to intensify actions carried out in Ngoantet. A prospect that strengthens the solidity of a partnership that has become a model of cooperation in the service of human development and access to care.
