At least four Cameroonian soldiers were injured and a woman was killed Monday night in an attack carried out by Boko Haram fighters against an army outpost in Tourou, in the Far North region of Cameroon, local sources said Tuesday.

The attack occurred around 9:00 PM in Tourou, a locality in the Mokolo district, in the Mayo-Tsanaga department, according to an official of a local vigilance committee who requested anonymity.
The 15-month-old baby of the woman killed was also seriously wounded by gunfire, the same source said.
According to this source, the attackers took advantage of the attack to seize some military equipment before fleeing. The injured soldiers as well as the infant were admitted to the regional hospital.
This attack occurred less than 24 hours after an attempted incursion by Boko Haram fighters in the same locality. Two fighters from the group were killed and several others injured during an operation by the Cameroonian forces, according to local security sources.
