A new step for decentralization in Cameroon. On Thursday, September 3, 2026, the signing ceremony of the Partial Retrocession Agreement of activities and credit for the “Strengthening Decentralization in Cameroon” (REDECA) project was held in Yaoundé.

Implemented within the framework of the 3rd Debt Relief and Development Contract (C2D) between Cameroon and France, the project supports the Urban Communities of Bafoussam, Bertoua, and Garoua in strengthening their capacities and improving their governance.
An envelope of approximately 827 million FCFA is allocated to them to strengthen institutional capacities, support citizen participation, and improve local management of activities.
From responsibility to action, REDECA helps bring decision-making and action closer to the local level, for the direct benefit of the populations.
