The Minister of Public Health, Malachie Manaouda, specifies that the vaccination campaign against Mpox will begin on April 10, 2026, in nine health districts.
At-risk individuals, aged 18 and over, will receive a dose of the MVA-BN vaccine against Mpox in a few days. This will take place during the vaccination campaign that will be held in nine health districts in the Littoral region, specifically the districts of Bangue, Bonassama, Cité des palmiers, Deido, Dibombari, Japoma, Logbaba, Nylon and Yabassi.
In practice, vaccination will be free. It will take place at fixed posts in health facilities and at temporary fixed posts in the community. But well before that, community health workers will travel to households to count at-risk individuals and conduct awareness-raising for vaccination. By asking the population to massively join this vaccination campaign, the Minister of Public Health ensures that vaccination remains one of the most effective ways to protect the population against Mpox.
