Women and ICT: Minpostel's supervision at the heart of the IWD 2026 celebration

As part of the 41st edition of International Women’s Day, the association of women of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications has multiplied initiatives around training, health and digital technology, highlighting the strategic role of women in the development of technologies and society.

As a prelude to the festivities of March 8, 2026, placed under the theme “Rights. Justice. Action. For all women and girls”, the Tutelle Association, which brings together women from the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of Cameroon (Minpostel), organized a series of activities aimed at promoting the fulfillment, training and professional engagement of women.
A non-governmental, apolitical, secular and non-profit association, Tutelle brings together women working within the ministry to promote their personal and professional development. Its actions are structured around several major axes, notably the fulfillment of Minpostel women, professional training for improved performance, support for women in the fight against poverty, as well as the representation of Minpostel women in other sectors of society.
The association, which cooperates closely with women’s groups from structures under the supervision of Minpostel, organizes its activities around several poles: Science and technique, Art and culture, Sport and well-being, Catering and decoration.

As part of the celebration of this 2026 edition, Tutelle has set up a week of rich and varied activities for the benefit of female staff and all Minpostel workers.
Among the highlights was a film screening dedicated to women’s mental health, an initiative aimed at raising awareness about the importance of psychological well-being in professional and family life.
A round table on the theme “Women and ICT in 2026: environmental protection” also brought together several speakers around key issues related to digital technology and the place of women in this strategic sector.



Four presentations punctuated this meeting:
Women and ICT use: the figures in 2026,
The rights of women and girls in ICT,
Women’s rights at work,
Women and PATNUT.
Health, training and sharing of experiences
In order to promote the health and well-being of staff, screening sessions were organized for all ministry workers. They notably focused on cervical cancer, prostate cancer, as well as breast palpation, thus contributing to strengthening prevention and awareness.
Furthermore, several training sessions were offered to participants, covering various fields such as information and communication technologies (ICT), leadership, public speaking, as well as the manufacture of various products from an economic empowerment perspective.

The highlight of this week of activities, the Open Day (JPO) coupled with a gastronomic fair, organized on Thursday, March 5, 2026, in the presence of the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, Minette Libom Likeng in the central services of Minpostel, made it possible to highlight the know-how, creativity and spirit of initiative of the women of the ministry.

Through these initiatives, Tutelle reaffirms its commitment to promoting the rights, skills and active participation of women in the postal and telecommunications sector, while contributing to the national dynamic of celebrating International Women’s Day.
