Until September 7, the facility offers the population free physiotherapy assessments and care. A strong initiative in a context where access to rehabilitation care remains a challenge for many Cameroonians.
According to Élysée Mvondo, Head of the Physio-Physiotherapy Service, this campaign aims to facilitate access to care, raise awareness about the importance of rehabilitation, and highlight the essential role of physiotherapists in functional recovery and patient autonomy, especially after a stroke.
The highlight is scheduled for September 8, on the occasion of International Physiotherapy Day. A symposium dedicated to “cardiovascular diseases and strokes” will close the week. This scientific meeting brings together doctors, physiotherapists, and nurses around the prevention, management, and rehabilitation of these pathologies, the leading cause of acquired disability.
Through this mobilization, the Central Hospital of Yaoundé reaffirms its commitment to accessible and quality care, in accordance with its motto: “Service – Quality – Integrity”.
