A meeting between project holders and investors took place on August 26 in Douala with the ambition to advance the project.
To equip the port city of Kribi with an oil depot and a pipeline, Cameroon is seeking partners who can finance the project. It is with this goal that the Cameroonian Petroleum Depot Company organized a meeting with investors and financiers on Wednesday. The purpose of the meeting is to mobilize funds for the construction of the said oil depot. The project cost is estimated at 150 billion CFA francs. To mobilize these funds, efforts are being led by PG & Partners firms as well as the Ivorian bank Matha Capital.

Well underway for the realization of this project, Cameroon has already taken certain steps including the creation of a line in the pricing structure of petroleum products in anticipation of financing. Another action in this regard is the establishment on August 17 of the social bodies of the Kribi oil depot. Patrice Entame Etame is at the helm of the oil depot, while Véronique Moampea Mbio, general manager of the SCDP, chairs the board of directors.
The sought financing will enable the realization of a project that will help reduce dependence on the Port of Douala, accommodate larger ships, accelerate change and reduce processing times, strengthen national storage, according to a publication by the SCDP dated August 26, 2026.

Wednesday’s meeting was held following the inauguration on August 21 in Douala of three new infrastructures including a new domestic gas sphere in Bonaberi, a new pipeline, and a new headquarters for the SCDP. The structure is thus in the dynamic of improving the supply of gas and fuels in Cameroon in a context where signals of shortages are occasionally given through the scarcity of domestic gas or kerosene.
