Objective: to move students from “knowledge” to “know-how” and accelerate the creation of jobs and “Made in Cameroon” products within the framework of SND30.
The university is becoming a business factory. This is the strong message of the Salon du Génie et Talent de l’Étudiant Camerounais (GETEC), whose 8th edition took place on August 11, 2026, at Place de l’Indépendance under the theme: “The entrepreneurial university at the heart of SND30”.
Presided over by Prof. Jacques FAME NDONGO, Minister of State in charge of Higher Education, the ceremony placed MINPMEESA at the center of the system. For the Government, GETEC must strengthen the transition from knowledge to know-how. The ambition is clear: to make the university a crucible of innovation, production, and job creation.

The Ministry of SMEs, Social Economy and Handicrafts plays a central role here. It intends to support the emergence of competitive local solutions driven by students. The numbers speak for themselves. In 2025, MINPMEESA had already granted a total subsidy of 420 million FCFA to the 22 winners of the 7th edition. The goal: to develop their Junior-Enterprises and accelerate the maturation of their projects.
For GETEC 2026, the bar is raised. A budget of 450 million FCFA is announced. It will be used notably for the acquisition of equipment, compliance, certification, and protection of student innovations.
This intervention fits within MINPMEESA’s vision: to transform students’ ideas and skills into viable businesses, sustainable jobs, and “Made in Cameroon” products. An approach perfectly aligned with the ambitions of SND30 and the import-substitution policy. “From university to business, from idea to innovation, from innovation to value creation,” summarizes the ministry. The bet is launched: to support Cameroonian youth to bring out future national champions.
