In Yaoundé, the second International Cultural Day of the International Higher School of War illustrated Cameroon’s commitment to strengthening its military cooperation through intercultural dialogue and new African geopolitical dynamics.
The second edition of the International Cultural Day of the International Higher School of War (ESIG) was held on July 13, 2026, on the Simbock campus in Yaoundé, under the high patronage of the Ministry of Defense. Presided over by Major General Hector Tchémo, personal representative of the Minister Delegate to the Presidency in charge of Defense, the ceremony brought together the 54 auditors of the 21st class, from 22 countries in Africa and Europe.
Beyond cultural and gastronomic exhibitions, the event highlighted the mission of ESIG: to train officers capable of operating in a multinational environment. The delegations presented the riches of their respective heritages, while Cameroon showcased the diversity of its cultural areas through traditional dances and culinary specialties.
The main innovation of this edition was the installation of a stand dedicated to the Confederation of Sahel States (AES), reflecting the ongoing reshaping of the continent’s security architecture. An initiative that demonstrates the school’s attention to new African geopolitical realities.

Through this meeting, the Ministry of Defense reaffirms its ambition to make ESIG a center of excellence serving military cooperation and defense diplomacy. The celebration thus appears as a lever for bringing together future senior military leaders, in a context where dialogue, trust, and regional integration remain major challenges for the continent’s stability.
