These competitive examinations are being opened more than a year after the Head of State’s announcement of a contractualization of nearly 10,000 health personnel. Indeed, on December 31, 2024, during his traditional address to the nation, President Paul Biya declared that he had “decided on the contractualization of 9,944 health personnel, over a five-year period.” The announcement had then led to a positive reaction from young graduates who had gathered at the Ministry of Public Health to express their joy. But as time went by, public opinion wondered how this recruitment was being carried out. Although questions remain on this subject, the open competitive examinations can be seen as a part of the concretization of the presidential decision.
