In production basins, the bean regains a price advantage, a sign of a market under tension and ongoing arbitrage among growers.

The price per kilogram of cocoa is once again higher than that of robusta coffee, the most widely cultivated variety in Cameroon. According to the Sector Information System (SIF), managed by the National Cocoa and Coffee Board (ONCC), beans were trading between 1 275 and 1 375 FCFA on April 7, 2026. This differential revives interest in cocoa, already driven by firm international demand and supply constraints. On the ground, producers are adjusting their sales and investments, while collectors closely monitor volatility. In the short term, this price hierarchy could reshape flows and weigh on campaign strategies, without removing uncertainties related to costs and yields.
