
Three separatist fighters were killed on Monday in a sweep operation carried out by elements of the Cameroonian army in the North-West region of Cameroon, military sources announced.

The operation took place in the locality of Baba, in the Ngoketunjia division, according to the same sources. It resulted in the seizure of several weapons as well as bags containing a plant substance assimilated to cannabis. No losses were recorded on the side of the defense forces.

Furthermore, Cameroonian defense forces killed eleven separatist fighters, including a group leader, on January 6 during another military operation in the same region, which has been plagued by a security crisis since 2016.
