
Meeting in Seoul from May 31 to June 2, 2026, on the occasion of the Korea-Africa Ministerial Meeting, Cameroon reaffirmed its desire to consolidate its cooperation with the Republic of Korea.
At the heart of the discussions: artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and agricultural development, considered strategic levers for the implementation of the National Development Strategy 2030.

The Minister of External Relations, Lejeune Mbella Mbella, led the Cameroonian delegation to the Korea-Africa Foreign Ministers’ Meeting 2026, organized in Seoul. This meeting offered participants the opportunity to review cooperation prospects between Korea and African countries, in a context marked by the acceleration of technological and economic changes.
Speaking during the proceedings, the head of Cameroonian diplomacy highlighted the quality of bilateral relations between Yaoundé and Seoul. He particularly called on the Korean side to intensify its support in sectors deemed priority for Cameroon, notably artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and agriculture, to support the objectives of the SND30.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Lejeune Mbella Mbella participated in a courtesy audience granted by the President of the Republic of Korea, Lee Jae-Myung, to several heads of ministerial delegations present in Seoul.
The sessions concluded with the adoption of the Korea-Africa Joint Declaration 2026. The document enshrines the future directions of the partnership between the two parties and confirms the holding of the next Korea-Africa Summit in 2029.
