
The 22nd edition of the International Cycling Tour of Cameroon was officially launched on Wednesday in Maroua, the capital of the Far North region of the country, announced CRTV, the state media.
According to the same source, 46 riders from Germany, the Netherlands, Rwanda, Algeria, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Cameroon started the first stage connecting Maroua, Mora and Maroua over a distance of 127.9 kilometers.

This first stage was won by the Cameroonian Rodrigue Eric Kuéré Nounawé, a member of SNH Vélo Club, one of the two local teams competing in this event.

The race for the title to succeed Algerian Islam Mansouri, winner of the 2025 edition, is now open. In total, ten stages are on the program for this edition, covering a total distance of 1,052.3 kilometers. The peloton will cross seven of Cameroon’s ten regions.
The route offers varied profiles with road stages, criteriums, and an individual time trial. Some new features have been announced, including a time trial in Limbé in the Southwest of the country. The race will conclude on June 14 on Boulevard du 20 Mai in Yaoundé, the capital.
