The Bank of Central African States continues to modernize financial exchanges in the CEMAC zone thanks to the Central African Teleclearing System (SYSTAC). This system, “clean, secure, automated and fully dematerialized,” ensures the processing of high-volume interbank debit and credit operations, excluding urgent transactions. BEAC emphasizes that “the overall functioning of the system was deemed satisfactory,” despite occasional disruptions. These are mainly related to telecommunications network failures and the lack of interfacing between SYSTAC and certain banking information systems. The positive evaluation covers both the National Clearing Centers and the Regional Clearing Center, confirming the robustness of a key infrastructure for payment fluidity in the sub-region.
