‹‹ My Passion, My Country ›› more than just a 200-page autobiography, this taboo-free narrative traces a singular journey from her birth in Gabon to her jubilee in France, without omitting the political and social realities of Cameroon. Through this literary immersion, the author delivers a poignant testimony about her marriage, her motherhood, and her very strong attachment to the traditions of her country. With the main objective being ‹‹ Her desire to share her experience and testify to her commitment ››.
During this book signing, the Mvog Mbi native expressed a deep and long-standing love for her homeland, which she has manifested for nearly 30 years by caring for street children through the Bernède Foundation (she has housed, fed, clothed, and schooled these children), considering this as an investment for the country.
According to the novelist, ‹‹ her return to Cameroon is motivated by the desire to present herself again, to explain what she wishes to do, particularly in the social and humanitarian fields ››.
This 200-page collection addresses the realities of Cameroon in a frank and sincere manner. In her presentation, she acknowledges that she cannot change mentalities alone. She therefore calls for collaboration with her Cameroonian brothers to together lift this Nation out of poverty.

Furthermore, she insists in this work titled ” My Passion, My Country ” that this return is also linked to a deep call from her ancestors and the need to preserve her heritage and her lands in Cameroon, even though she had a comfortable life in France.
The book signed this Thursday, February 19, 2026, is presented as a ” Positive Diaspora ” focused on concrete contributions rather than destructive actions. She hopes that the Cameroonian diaspora, together, can contribute to development.
Calixte Awondo demonstrates in this autobiographical narrative that she has a long-standing and sincere commitment to Cameroon, motivated by a deep love and a desire to concretely help the population, particularly the most vulnerable. Her book advocates for an honest and realistic approach to addressing Cameroon’s challenges, recognizing the need to confront realities in order to progress. Family and ancestral ties and the sense of belonging to her Cameroonian land are powerful driving forces that pushed her to return.
